How the maths works

Concentration is peptide mass divided by water volume. Volume per dose is the dose divided by that concentration. On a U-100 insulin syringe every unit is 0.01 ml, so units are simply millilitres × 100.

Choosing a water volume

More water means a larger, easier-to-read draw for small doses. Less water keeps large doses inside a small syringe. Aim for a draw between roughly 5 and 50 units; the calculator flags anything outside that.

After reconstitution

Refrigerate at 2–8 °C, keep out of light, and do not shake. Use within the window recommended for the specific compound. Discard any vial that turns cloudy or shows particles.
